  • Has served as arbitrator and mediator in oil and gas disputes involving lease termination issues, purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, exploration and participating agreements (contract and regulatory)
  • Served as arbitrator in complex insurance dispute involving retail brokerage, surplus lines coverage, wholesale brokers, London broker and London insurer
  • Served as arbitrator in dispute concerning stock conversion and rights of minority shareholders. Has served as arbitrator in dispute concerning purchase and sale of bio-fuels
  • Chaired Arbitration Panels addressing operator and non-operator disputes, power purchase contracts, and well damage claims by operator against well service company.
  • Represented parties in arbitration of Gulf of Mexico and international joint operating agreement disputes, including overriding royalty interests.


  • Served a co-trial counsel in $62 million arbitration award for additional overriding royalties for Houston based oil and gas exploration company, with interests in several coal seam gas fields in Queensland, Australia, claiming working interest owner undervalued royalties due on gas produced and sold through the Gladstone LNG export project. The dispute, governed by Texas law under the parties’ royalty contract, involved several complex issues of Texas oil and gas and royalty law. After a multi-day hearing in Houston, the Arbitrator awarded full amount sought for additional royalties on the LNG project gas. The award has since been collected in full, and the Final Award has been confirmed in Tri-Star Petroleum Co. v. Santos TPY Corp et. al, No. 2019-61685 (129th JDC, Harris Cty., TX).
